Welcome to Gold Companions! We’re thrilled to provide companionship and support services to seniors in Suffolk County, Long Island, NY. By booking or subscribing to our services, you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). Please read them carefully—they outline what you can expect from us and what we expect from you.
1. Our Services
Gold Companions offers personalized companionship through three options:
Weekly Plans: Regular 2-hour visits billed weekly, including in-home companionship and light housekeeping (e.g., tidying, laundry).
Monthly Plans: 10 hours of companionship per month over five 2-hour visits, billed monthly. Includes in-home companionship and light housekeeping; the Gold plan adds transportation and outside-the-home errands (e.g., grocery pickups, doctor visits).
Pay-As-You-Go: Single 2-hour visits with no commitment, including in-home companionship and light housekeeping, billed per use.
Service Limitations:
We cannot accommodate transportation for clients requiring wheelchairs due to vehicle constraints. Walkers and canes are welcome.
Outside-the-home errands are exclusive to the Gold Membership Plans only.
2. Safety Requirements
Your safety and ours matter. Clients must:
Disclose all pets in the home prior to service. Aggressive pets must be secured or removed before each visit.
Maintain a safe home environment free from hazards (e.g., clutter, unsafe conditions).
We reserve the right to refuse or cancel service if safety standards are not met, with a prorated refund if applicable.
3. Booking and Scheduling
Minimum Visit Duration: All visits are at least 2 hours, billed as such even if less time is used.
Scheduling: Clients schedule visits via our online platform (Acuity Scheduling) after subscribing or booking.
Rescheduling: You may reschedule with at least 12 hours’ notice at no charge. Less than 12 hours’ notice or no-shows are non-refundable but may be rescheduled at our discretion.
Overages: Visits exceeding 2 hours by 25 minutes or more are billed an additional hour at $25/hour.
4. Billing and Payment
Weekly Plans: Billed at $55 (Basic) or $180 (Gold) per week, charged automatically each week until canceled. Includes a one-time $5 setup fee upon enrollment.
Monthly Plans: Billed at $250 (Basic) or $315 (Gold) per month, charged automatically each month until canceled. Includes a one-time $5 setup fee upon enrollment.
Pay-As-You-Go: Billed at $70 per visit, due at booking, with no setup fee.
Payment Methods: We accept payments via Stripe or other designated processors. All fees are non-refundable unless specified.
5. Refund and Cancellation Policy
Weekly Plans: No refunds after a week begins. The $5 setup fee is non-refundable. Cancel anytime to stop future billing, effective at the week’s end. No-shows are non-refundable.
Monthly Plans: No refunds after the first visit of the month. The $5 setup fee is non-refundable. Cancel anytime to stop future billing, effective at the month’s end. No-shows are non-refundable.
Pay-As-You-Go: No refunds once a visit is completed or no-showed. Cancel or reschedule with 12+ hours’ notice at no charge; otherwise, full $70 billed.
Prorated Refunds: If we cancel service (e.g., due to safety issues), a prorated refund may be issued for unused time, excluding the setup fee, at our discretion.
6. Right to Refuse Service
We reserve the right to refuse or cancel service for any reason, including but not limited to:
Unsafe home conditions (e.g., aggressive pets, hazards).
Client behavior that compromises our team’s safety or well-being.
Non-compliance with these Terms.
If service is canceled by us, a prorated refund may be provided for unused services, less the setup fee and any completed visits or no-shows.
7. Client Responsibilities
You agree to:
Provide accurate information about your needs and home environment.
Ensure pets are managed and safety conditions are met before each visit.
Notify us of cancellations or rescheduling needs with 12+ hours’ notice.
8. Liability
Gold Companions is not liable for:
Injuries or damages caused by undisclosed pets or unsafe conditions.
Delays or cancellations due to weather, emergencies, or client non-compliance.
Our services are non-medical—emergency care is not provided.
9. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms at any time. Changes will be posted on our website, and continued use of our services constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
